Hard Anodised Care & Use
Before first use
Remove any labels from the product and wash in warm soapy water before use. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
Seasoning
Hard anodised products will benefit from seasoning. To do this, apply a thin layer of inexpensive cooking oil in the base of the tray or dish. Place in a hot oven (approx. 200°c) for between 10 -15 minutes, and then allow to cool. Once cool wash in warm soapy water. Alternatively, you can just use your Mermaid Hard Anodised Bakeware, and the seasoning will develop naturally. Over time the bakeware will develop a natural patina, helping it to become virtually non-stick.
Cooking
Oven safe to 240°c / 475°F / Gas Mark 9. Suitable for use from oven to all hobs with the exception of Induction. To help prevent warping, care should be taken when using on a hob. Only use a low heat and try to match the size of the heat source to the bakeware.
Cleaning
Clean by hand using a sponge and washing up liquid, fill the pan with warm soapy water and leave to soak if necessary. The bakeware should then be hand washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried. Never put Hard Anodised products into a dishwasher as the caustic nature of the detergent will damage the bakeware. If stubborn stains persist, simply soak in warm soapy water and use a nylon scourer to remove any residue. Avoid the use of any caustic cleaning solutions. Never plunge a hot pan into cold water as extremes of temperature can cause distortion. Acidic foodstuffs may mark the product if it is left in the pan for any length of time. Ensure that your bakeware is clean and dry before storing.
Please note: The bakeware may display 3 small contact points where the pan has been held during the hard-anodising process. This is part of the manufacturing process and will not affect the products performance.
