Chabrias Ltd is a UK manufacturer committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations and products. Although making things inevitably consumes resources, we believe responsible manufacturing can help both our customers and our planet. We therefore integrate environmental considerations into every business decision and strive for continual improvement in line with the principles of the UK Government’s Net Zero Strategy and ISO 14001 good practice.

This policy applies to all sites, activities, products and services under our control, including:

  • In‑house production facilities
  • UK‑based contract manufacturers and suppliers
  • Warehousing, logistics and administration

Manufacturing & supply chain

• Prioritise in‑house production or UK‑based partners to shorten transport routes and support local green innovation.

Materials & waste

• Design for durability, repairability and recyclability.

• Cut process waste to <3 % of material throughput.

• Achieve 90 % recycling rate for all non‑hazardous waste by 2027.

– Switching to recycled‑content packaging boards

– Closed‑loop off‑cut collection with local recycler

Water • Monitor and target a 20 % reduction in water use per unit produced by 2028. – Rainwater harvesting feasibility study (2025)
Transport & logistics

• Optimise shipments to full loads and back‑haul opportunities.

• Transition company fleet to 100 % EV or ULEV by 2030.

– Trial of electric delivery van route (2024‑25)
Employees & culture

• Provide training and encourage all staff to contribute ideas for improvement.

• Publish progress annually and celebrate environmental achievements.

– Quarterly “Green Champions” workshops

 

4  |  Compliance & governance

  • We comply with all applicable UK and devolved environmental legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Waste Regulations 2011, and Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting (SECR).
  • Ultimate responsibility rests with the Managing Director; day‑to‑day implementation is overseen by the Environmental Manager and site leads.
  • Progress is reported to the Board every quarter and externally via our annual Sustainability Report.

5  |  Customer partnership

By manufacturing predominantly in‑house or within the UK, we shorten supply chains, lower freight emissions, and give customers clear provenance. We also provide environmental data on request so that customers can make informed, eco‑conscious choices.

6  |  Continuous improvement & review

We review this policy at least annually—or sooner if regulations, technology or our business operations change—and update objectives accordingly. Stakeholder feedback is welcome at Admin@chabrias.co.uk.
